On October 1, the University of Barcelona hosted the third edition of its Spin-off Meeting<\/strong>, organized by the Bosch i Gimpera Foundation<\/strong>. The event brought together university-affiliated companies to share experiences, explore new collaborations and discover emerging initiatives.<\/p>\n Titled Cockroaches vs Unicorns<\/em>, the meeting gathered representatives from 25 active UB spin-offs, showcasing their innovation and entrepreneurial drive. In 2024, these companies created over 227 jobs and generated nearly \u20ac11 million in revenue \u2014 figures that highlight their economic and social impact, as well as their potential to attract investment and drive innovation.<\/p>\n During the event, Jes\u00fas Osuna, Partner at addwill<\/strong>\u2019s Corporate and Commercial Department, took part in the program, sharing his legal and business expertise. His contribution aligned with the event\u2019s goal: to foster dialogue and learning among entrepreneurs and companies connected to the University.<\/p>\n The meeting also featured presentations from new spin-offs, institutional remarks, and a networking lunch that encouraged valuable connections between entrepreneurs, investors and industry professionals.<\/p>\n This initiative underscores the importance of UB\u2019s spin-offs as engines of innovation, knowledge transfer and value creation.
