On March 9 and 12, Albert Folguera, Managing Partner of addwill’s Family Business Tax Department, spoke at a course on the VAT treatment of intra-EU transactions, organized by AEDAF Catalunya – the Spanish Association of Tax Advisors.
The session focused on a key area for internationally active companies: how intra-EU transactions are handled, with particular attention to distance sales and the One Stop Shop (OSS) scheme.
Throughout the sessions, the main aspects of the intra-EU VAT framework were reviewed, including intra-EU supplies and acquisitions, deemed transactions, as well as chain and triangular transactions—areas that often raise practical questions.
In this context, Albert Folguera focused his contribution on intra-EU distance sales and the OSS scheme, sharing technical insights and a practical perspective on how to manage these transactions and mitigate tax risks.
The sessions also touched on the European VIDA project (VAT in the Digital Age), which will shape the future of indirect taxation across the EU.
These types of sessions are key to staying up to date and aligning criteria in an increasingly demanding regulatory environment for companies operating internationally.
At addwill, we take a hands-on, up-to-date approach to help businesses manage intra-EU VAT with greater confidence and clarity.
